Using the Stripe Integration to Process your Online Payments

This instructional section will provide you with information on how you will set up your Donate Money Now account, and how you will set up your Stripe account which will enable you to process credit cards.

Donate Money Now has chosen to use Stripe’s integration for our payment processor. Our development team has successfully integrated our platform with Stripe to make the set up as streamless as possible. Please follow the directions below.

A. Activating and creating a Stripe account

Donate Money Now is integrated with Stripe, one of the most trusted online payment processors. In order to use your Donate Money Now account, you will need to have an approved Stripe account.

    How to set up both accounts.

  • Visit www.donatemoneynow.com.
  • You will need to register for an account. You will see this screen:

  • Once you fill out the details above, the integration with Stripe will direct you to their site to fill out the application needed to get an account setup.
  • Once your Stripe account has been approved, you will be able to process payment via your Donate Money Now account.
  • If you already have a Stripe account, then sign into your account. You will need to complete the Stripe Tax Configuration to continue and enable the Stripe module.
  • Click Save to continue.
  • Now that both accounts are set up and active, you can now use your Donate Money Now system to accept payments.

B. How to accept online payments with Stripe

1. Client/Merchant Process

Our development team has worked hard to get a seamless process established with our system, Donate Money Now, and Stripe. Here is how this process will work once you’ve got your Stripe account set up and active.

  1. You will go into the dashboard on your Donate Money Now page. You will set up and publish your specific marketing link to send to your group of customers.
  2. Once your customer has clicked on your unique link, they will be able to process their transaction via the Stripe platform.
  3. The customer will fill out the required information on the payment page, and then hit process.
  4. The processing will all happen within Stripe’s secure backend, and then upon approval, the transaction will complete.
  5. Your customer will then get an emailed receipt of the transaction, and also have their own login to Donate Money Now to see all of their purchase history, and transaction details.

2. Customer Process

As a customer, the process is a bit shorter as everything has already been set up by the merchant so that the customer can easily make a payment using Stripe’s processing platform via the integration with Donate Money Now.

  1. When you, the customer, receive the marketing link via the merchant communication method, you can click on that link.
  2. When the page opens, you will have the opportunity to pick the amount desired for your contribution.
  3. You will then be asked to enter in your name, address, and then your credit card information. You will then click on the button to process your transaction.
  4. The process will then communicate with Stripe’s backend, and get an approval / denial, and send that through to you.
  5. Upon approval of the transaction, you will receive an email receipt, and have the opportunity to set up an account for you to view and print off receipts.

3. Employee Process

  1. Each merchant will have the option to take a payment over the phone.
  2. If a customer calls in wanting to do this, Donate Money Now will have the ability to accept that payment via a link to Stripe’s virtual terminal, which again, processes via their secure platform.
  3. Customer will also be emailed a receipt.
